Create a 3D spinning top

In Illustrator CS5 we have lots of interesting new features, which make life so much easier. These new tools can be applied nearly to any workflow, simple or complicated illustrations and they save you a lot of time and make using Illustrator fun.

In this tutorial we are going to create a colourful 3D spinning top toy. We are going to use the Width tool, the Draw inside mode, the Shape Builder tool, the Revolve effect, Pathfinder and Recolor artwork. Enjoy!

Create a heart shape logo

In this tutorial you can learn how to quickly create a heart shape logo in Illustrator CS5 using the Pen tool, Smooth tool, Reflect tool, Shape Builder tool and Type tool. You can also learn how to save Symbols in Illustrator to reuse them later or to make changes to them.

Keep in mind that a logo should be always as simple as it can be, but at the same time unique. You don’t need complexity to make a good logo design. Less is more

Create realistic blood

In this tutorial you can learn to create realistic blood. Beware, it will be a little bit gory! Don’t show it your kids and your grandma! I’m using a photograph and I draw the dripping blood on the picture trying to capture the volume and realistic look. I don’t use any special brushes or plug-ins (as usual) so you only need to find a photo to be able to follow this tutorial.

Please try not to start with your girlfriends photograph or the family portrait

I’m really happy that my work was chosen by the judges and my friends voted for me.
